The assistant controller provides assistance in the development of the annual budget including updating operating expense allocations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Enters manufacturing and operating expense budget data annually in Cognos
• Sets up fixed overhead recurring journal entry for 9 locations based on annual budget
• Sets up standard journal entry to record amortization of property tax, insurances, rents, depreciation, allocate utility expenses by functional area by location
• Records petty cash expenditures for 7 locations
• Reviews prepaid accounts for additions, changes, update journal entries as appropriate and records the journal entry
• Converts Company 001 expenses paid in Canadian dollars to US dollars
• Reviews and edits as appropriate the United Airlines charges and records the journal entry
• Edits and records fixed overhead journal entry
• Prepares and records journal entries for general manufacturing and supply management salary allocations, standard journal entries, as well as Anemostat and Linel transfers
• Reviews manufacturing and operating expenses to ensure proper classification of charges and makes correcting journal entries as necessary
• Records transfers of sales, engineering, and admin expenses each month
• Reviews all charges to the fixed asset accounts and make adjustments as appropriate
• Reconciles 30 general ledger accounts

• Trues up the bad debt allowance by product line to the actual incurred experience for the year
